Thank you for inquiring about Tablescapes…Designs to Benefit Children’s Care. The annual tablescaping event came about as an idea to increase the dollars raised for the kids – yet have a fun, social event for the members of the Children’s Care Auxiliary. The event involves a friendly tablescaping contest, a fabulous brunch, entertainment and always an inspirational message about the miracles happening every day at Children’s Care Hospital & School. Tablescapes has grown through the past 9 years and we are very proud to promote it as a great way to start off the spring season with a fun day -- while helping the special boys and girls served by Children’s Care Hospital & School.

 

The following information is helpful for anyone considering joining Tablescapes 2013        

 

  • Date:  Saturday, June 1, 2013
  • Time: Doors will open 9:00 a.m. and we encourage all guests to come early to have enough time to see all of the tables, view all of the auction items, vote, register for the Gunderson’s raffle, and mingle with the crowd!
  • Place:  Coliseum of Sioux Falls, 515 N. Main Avenue, Sioux Falls
  • Set up:  Friday, May 31st beginning at 3:00 p.m. We ask that all set up Friday evening be completed by 7:00 p.m.  Carts and volunteers will be available for assistance.
  • Tickets:  Tickets are $25 each. 
  • Brunch:  The brunch will be catered by Chef Dominique’s Catering.   
  • Raffle/Auction/Voting:  
    • The students at Children’s Care are again busy on surprise auction items.  The silent auction will run through the mid-point of brunch and auction winners will be announced at the end of the event!
    • Voting for your favorite tables will be available for $1 each or 11 for $10!
    • Gunderson’s Jewelry is donating a two gift certificate $1,500 and one for $500.  Tickets will be $10 each.  One raffle, two drawings. Raffle tickets will be available March 1st
  • Speaker/Entertainment: 
    •  We are so excited to announce the speaker for Tablescapes ~ Designs to Benefit Children’s Care!  Sara Sprock is not only a very devoted advocate for the mission of Children’s Care and one of our top Mall Walk fundraisers, but most importantly she is the mother of one of the special students served.  Sara is very passionate about sharing her message and experience of how Miracles Happen at Children’s Care 
    • A special performance by the very talented Allison Nash. Allison Nash hails from Sioux City, IA and is a recent transplant to the Sioux Falls area. Born and raised with a passion for music this young lady is quickly making a deep impression on the regional musical scene. She was the featured musician for two straight years at the large annual Chamber of Commerce gala and works with a regular variety of styles and groups on a regular basis.  We are honored to have us join us with a very special song and message to our audience.
  • Tables and Linens: The tables are 60” round.  120” round cloth reaches the floor / 108” round cloth reaches ¾ way down the table / 90” round cloth reaches ½ way down
    • White linen will be provided for a small fee.              
    • Tables seat eight.
  • Chairs: back 35 inches high, 18” top of chair to seat, 19” seat to floor, the seat is 16” x 17” (if you choose to do a chair cover, but it is not required!)
  • What You Will Provide:  You will need to provide everything for the lunch -- glasses, silverware, napkins, salt and pepper, etc. Storage room is available for your tableware bins and boxes during the event. 
    • Brunch will be plated on plastic plates that will be served by the catering staff and placed on top of your dinnerware (no dirty plates to wash!)  Be prepared to take home silverware in a bin for your own cleaning.
